Councillor Nattaq advised that he received concerns from elders attending church regarding the high snowbanks. He noted that high snowbanks were also in other areas in the city, which were dangerous. Councillor Nattaq noted that Public Works were removing snow in certain parts of the city.

Mayor Awa noted that it had been 25 years since Nunavut was created and the Government of Nunavut recently celebrated this milestone. Mayor Awa advised that he spoke at the celebration acknowledging former Mayors and Councils and spoke about the plans that Council was working on. He expressed appreciation that Inuit chose Iqaluit as the capital.
