Deputy Mayor Smith noted that Sunday, was the beginning of Ramadan, which was a month of celebration of faith, community and peace. She expressed the need for a ceasefire from the violence committed by Hamas in October 2023, for the Palestinians who continue to be killed, and for the millions who are displaced and are starving.
